Our Swim Instructors are responsible for providing a fun, safe, and clean environment in which children can learn to swim freestyle and backstroke. Our instructors provide Lessons for Life through a passion for swimming and a love of children. We offer an extreamly flexable schedule while keeping your weekends free!
Responsibilities
The primary duty of a swim instructor is to teach swimming skills to children three to seven years of age. Some of the day-to-day duties and responsibilities include:
Teaching swimming in accordance with the Swim School of Denver s curriculum
Participation in ongoing staff training meetings
Always ensuring swimmer safety
Providing families with individualized feedback about their students
Completing student assessments online (using iClassPro)
Always maintaining a professional attitude
Qualifications
The skills and qualifications required for the Swim Instructor role include:
At least 18 years of age
Pass a background check
Passion for water and working with children
Ability to swim freestyle and backstroke and tread water
Strong communication, leadership, and time management skills
CPR and First Aid,
Interpersonal and problem-solving skills
Reliable, self-motivated
Must be able to lift 30 lbs. and work in-water for 4-hour shifts, 1-4 times a week 2:30 p.m -6:30 p.m.
Experience as a teacher, caregiver, or coach.
Bachelor s degree in early childhood development highly prioritized.
