STUDENT AFFAIRS (SE-SSER-IUSEA)
Student Central provides a high level service delivery philosophy and functions as a central operational unit for student support services on the Southeast campus. Cross trained staff perform a variety of complex duties involving the interpretation, dissemination, evaluation, and problem-solving of student services and information for students, the general public, staff, and faculty (clients). The areas include, but are not limited to: financial aid, registration, financial literacy, student accounts, and other university-related services. Forms of interaction with clients include in-person, phones, and email. Often issues and questions are more complex and/or urgent and cannot be completed through online transactions.
This position’s main responsibility is providing customer service and administrative support for the Student Central office for student services. Offices included in Student Central are: the Office of the Bursar, the Office of Financial Aid, and the Office of the Registrar. Primary responsibilities are welcoming people to Student Central, assessing questions, checking in students to see a Student Central representative, directing students to correct stations/offices, navigating websites, understanding forms, and student deadlines. This position will also review account balances and direct students on how to write checks. Also will answer and manage chatbot for Student Central website. Other tasks include, but are not limited to, shredding, data entry, process reports, duplicating, and communicating in person.
Primary job duties and responsibilities:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Ability to maintain confidentiality. Knowledge of computers and database/word processing software. Excellent communication skills. Excellent customer service skills. Detail oriented. Ability to work with wide range of people. Ability to handle a fast-paced environment.
Working Conditions / Demands
Ability to lift 10 pounds. Must be able to perform essential job duties with or without reasonable accommodation.
