Meal Driver – Hourly/Part Time/At-Will Part Time
The Meal Driver – Part-Time Position is Grant Funded. The City of Norwalk is seeking an experienced meal driver to fill a vacancy in the Social Services Department. Under moderate supervision, the meal driver will conduct vehicle safety inspections, account for and load meals and beverages, drive to assigned routes, and deliver meals and beverages. The driver will also maintain delivery inspection records and perform related duties as assigned. Essential Duties Depending on assignment, essential duties may include, but are not limited to, the following: Deliver meals to homebound seniors according to established route, schedule and procedures. Report changes in the status of homebound meal participants to designated program staff. Conduct daily vehicle inspection and promptly report any deficiencies. Maintain vehicle in clean and neat condition at all times. Receive and inspect food from caterer. Monitor temperatures of food and equipment.
