Maintenance Technician I
The Maintenance Technician, reporting to the Maintenance Manager, will be responsible for
maintaining production and quality by ensuring operation of machinery and mechanical equipment
in a safe environment. This role will be responsible for completing preventative maintenance
requirements on production machines and equipment, as well as provide support to the
Extrusion/Production department with any mechanic/maintenance needs. The ideal candidate will
have a high school diploma or equivalent and will need to supply own tools. Prior success as a
Maintenance Mechanic or Technician with manufacturing environment experience is a plus.
Additional responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
Performs maintenance on buildings and grounds.
Will have the ability to follow diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer’s
instructions, and engineering specifications to troubleshooting malfunctions.
Locate sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation; listening
for problems; using precision measuring and testing instruments.
Remove defective parts by dismantling devices using hand and power tools.
Control downtime by informing production workers of routine preventive maintenance
Fabricate repair parts by using machine shop tools and equipment.
Conserve maintenance resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to
accomplish job results.
Will assist the Production Department with die assemble, die cleanup, startups and
Will perform tool changes on Belling Machines and Perforators when required.
Will monitor stock levels of Maintenance supplies and spare parts and inform
supervisor of items needing to be ordered.
Maintain safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules,
Minimum educational requirement is high school diploma, or equivalent
Must supply own hand tools and toolbox.
Strong mechanical aptitude
Experience with installation of machinery and equipment as well as dis-assembly.
Excellent interpersonal and communications skills.
Good understanding of basic math required for quick and accurate counting and

Must be adaptable to changes in the work environment, comfortable with multiple
competing demands and able to deal with frequent change, delays or unexpected
events in a calm and logical manner.
