This is an in-person, non-remote position. This position is permanent, part-time, with a minimum of 32 hours per week and maximum of 40 hours per week, depending on the needs of the General Assembly. Work hours may vary between 6:30 a.m. 5:00 p.m.
The General Assembly’s Legislative Services Office provides courteous, high-quality mail services to legislators, legislative staff, and the nonpartisan legislative staff. The Mail Clerk assists with mailroom operations in processing incoming and outgoing mail and documents for legislators and legislative staff. The Mail Clerk is responsible for managing the processing of US Postal Service (USPS) and interdepartmental mail, as well as processing mail, parcels, and packages handled by UPS, FedEx, and similar shipping services. Special scheduling or work activities may be required in order to meet the demands of the General Assembly. Specialized safety equipment may be used in some inspection procedures. The Mail Clerk works under the supervision of the Mail Room Supervisor. All mail room activities fall under the direction of the Facility Services Manager.
