Job title Licensed Clinical Therapist Reports to Medical Director Program/Department Clinical Employment Type Exempt, FT-30 to 37.5 hours per week Kids First Health Care Kids First Health Care provides primary pediatric health care services in Adams County at school-based health centers and community pediatric clinics. Since establishing Colorado s first school-based health center in 1978, we have been committed to accessible health care for all children. Job purpose This role will be focused on supporting the adolescent population in portions of our community. This role will have a heavy educational outreach to adolescents with a focus on mental health maintenance and access to mental health services, will serve as an integrated part of the clinic team and provide focused therapy on an individual and group basis as deemed appropriate for patient needs. Duties and responsibilities Works with the adolescents providing integrated care for individual clinic patients and as a support person for clinic team members regarding patients mental health needs. Creates and participates in adolescent focused outreach to educate on mental health resources within the clinic and on health maintenance behaviors for adolescents. Provides
psychotherapy to adolescents and families, as appropriate.
Prepares treatment plans, discharge plans, and follow-up care programs.
Provides therapeutic crisis intervention and emergency services, as required.
May provide parenting classes and/or psycho-educational programs. Documents
intervention and program activity and maintains accurate and timely clinical records according to Kids First Health Care policies and procedures and in compliance with all government regulations and payer requirements.
Maintains confidentiality of patient records. Facilitates and empowers patients and families to reach optimum level of achievement.
Sets a positive example and provides role modeling as well as technical expertise to accomplish goals. Consults with supervisor, other therapists and related professional and paraprofessional staff, as appropriate, in the performance of therapy and/or casework.
Refers patients to appropriate service agencies, as needed. Attends and participates in group sessions, in-service education and training opportunities, meetings, supervisory sessions, clinical reviews, and special events. Embraces opportunities for professional growth. Performs duties commensurate with job duties, program description, and the clinician s experience, education and ability. Qualifications Required Master’s Degree in Clinical Social Work, Mental health counseling, Psychology or related graduate degree in mental/behavioral health Professional licensure in mental health per State of Colorado requirements Minimum 2 years of direct clinical experience Communication, organization, time management, interpersonal, and evidence informed clinical skills Knowledge and understanding of clinical social work and mental health counseling principles, methods, procedure, and standards Familiarity with current DSM 5 and diagnostic techniques Experience working in medical settings, preferably within an integrated healthcare framework in a primary care setting. Preferred Bilingual English/Spanish (Medical Spanish proficiency preferred) Experience within school clinics and/or with adolescent populations.
