The ABP has an opening for its Credentialing & Initial Certification Manager who plans and oversees the first line supervision for the array of components leading to initial certification, including residency and fellowship tracking, and the twenty-one initial exam applications that are coordinated by the examination administrators. Essential Functions: Serves as a managerial liaison between Residency and Fellowship Administrators. Acts as an external and internal resource regarding the residency and fellowship tracking system, and the general pediatrics and subspecialty certifying examinations. Understands policies and procedures, and, partnering with and under the oversight of the Director, Operations, ensures policies are implemented and integrated within multiple projects. Serves as a resource in cross-departmental initiatives involving projects leading to initial certification.
Oversees Residency and Fellowship Tracking and Processing and Credentialing of Certification Applications Supervises the tracking of approximately 15,000 residents and fellows; reviews irregularities and adverse evaluations, following established procedures. Supervises the credentialing of more than 5,000 applicants for the general pediatrics and subspecialty certifying examinations and ensures that the exam admission requirements are met. Oversees the processing of applications and the approval of documentation required from applicants by direct reports. Reviews multiple complex training and licensure issues, recognizing when irregularities need to be escalated. Investigates and solves problems under the advisement of the Directors. Oversees tracking processing, ensuring that processes in tracking are integrated to serve the credentialing for certification and the integration of online applications. Understands, recognizes, and adjusts processes to accommodate special training and credentialing pathways. Monitors the automated communications, deadlines, and flow of processes for tracking and applications. Is responsible for ensuring that the established processes and policies function appropriately and escalates irregularities. Ensures direct reports understand and can implement the timely integration of new policies and procedures for tracking and initial certification exams to safeguard the credentialing process. Ensures operational procedures are followed and that unusual circumstances are taken into consideration.
Administrative Prepares correspondence under own signature and drafts correspondence for Executive Vice President and Director s signatures. Supervises the preparing, monitoring, and organizing of files for archival. Contributes to the preparation of the CIC budget.
Human Resources Responsibilities Ensures direct reports follow ABP employee policies, collaborating with CIC management and HR. Conducts performance evaluations for the General Pediatrics and Subspecialty Teams. Creates, implements, and evaluates performance improvement goals for direct reports. Responsible for writing clear, fair, objective performance evaluations for employees. Provides constructive feedback and coaching throughout the year to assist in employee success. Ensures Subspecialty and General Pediatrics teams have the tools necessary to be successful at their respective jobs. Proactively plans for operational changes that impact recruitment, selection, and staffing levels with the oversight of the Director, Credentialing and Initial Certification, partnering with HR. Approves teams time allocations on a weekly basis, ensuring accuracy and addressing concerns with direct reports, CIC management, and HR, if needed. YourMembership.
