Assistant Professor Position in Quantum Condensed Matter and Atomic Molecular and Optical Physics

The Department of Physics at New York University invites applications for faculty positions in the general area of quantum condensed matter and atomic molecular and optical physics, including, but not limited to, quantum materials, quantum devices, quantum optics and photonics, as well as research with connections to quantum information. These positions are part of an initiative for further significant growth in these areas in the Center for Quantum Phenomena in the department.
The openings are for up to two experimental physicists at the tenure track Assistant Professor level. A successful candidate will have a Ph.D. and is expected to establish a leading research program in his/her field, as well as teach at the undergraduate and graduate levels. The positions can begin as early as September 1, 2022, pending administrative and budgetary approval.

Qualifications A successful candidate should have a Ph.D. in Physics or a related field and an ability to conduct original research that is documented by peer-reviewed publications. Previous experience in teaching and outreach is highly desirable.
