POSITION OVERVIEW :
Under general direction, this position is responsible for providing vision, planning, leadership, strategic direction, and oversight of terminal, landside, airside, and fleet maintenance at the Austin-Bergstrom International Airport ( AUS ). This position is responsible for the continual safety, sustainability, efficiency, and continuity of maintenance.
Develops annual and multi-year plans and strategies to meet AUS operational needs.
Develops and directs the implementation of goals, objectives, policies, procedures, and work standards to support the airport strategic plan. Leads the airport maintenance teams in ensuring the airport’s facilities are well maintained to provide positive customer experience.
Ensures the airfield maintenance is compliant to maintain the airport’s Federal Aviation Administration Operating Certificate. Directs airport maintenance to ensure compliance with Federal aviation regulations, policies, procedures, and delivery of quality customer and operational services. Confers with representatives of airlines, concessionaires, and others using airport facilities to coordinate maintenance and repair activities in tenant spaces.
Makes recommendations on construction, alterations, and maintenance activities at the airport facilities. Directs actions and resources to resolve emergencies, significant weather events and other irregular operation.
A skills assessment will be required for this position.
If you are selected for this position, and meet the Driver Safety Standards in the City of Austin Driver Safety Program, you may drive when necessary to multiple locations as part of your regular job duties. Otherwise, you are responsible for getting to and from these locations.
Veteran candidates will be required to provide a copy of their DD214 at the time of interview.
This position is categorized as an Essential Personnel. Essential personnel are required to come to work during emergencies or bad weather at the airport if they are scheduled to work and in some cases when they are not scheduled.
CRIMINAL HISTORY BACKGROUND CHECK
The top candidate will be subject to a minimum 10 year criminal background check and security threat assessment.

Shift work includes shift differential incentive for evening and night shifts and weekends.

Position may require on-call or call back responsibilities.
Shift may change according to departmental needs; work hours may include after hours, holidays, and weekend work.

$55.16 – $72.40
Monday – Friday; 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
Days and times based on operational needs.
