ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: As a General Service Technician at Christian Brothers Automotive, you are responsible for, but not limited to, the following: Completing all maintenance work, such as oil changes, tire rotations, alignments, etc.Performing a thorough Courtesy Inspection on all vehicles when approved by the customer. As part of this Courtesy Inspection, the technician should examine the vehicle and discuss recommended services, parts needed to perform the recommended services and time required to perform the services using an industry standard labor guide. Following all rules and regulations as spoken or written in any form by management (i.e. employee handbook and any addendums issued or posted at any time).Maintaining a positive attitude and team concept at all times.Acting in a professional manner suitable to represent the quality organization with which you are employed, always and in every instance projecting an attitude of honesty, integrity and respectfulness.Adhering to all OSHA safety rules and regulations as well as all local regulations regarding shop safety, fuel spill clean-up or other flammable or hazardous materials.Assisting in all housekeeping functions as directed by management.
Education and / or Experience: One to three years of experience preferred. We would prefer a high school or equivalent diploma, but this is not required.Small tool box/roll cart with simple tools needed to perform oil changes and tire rotations. Physical Requirements: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by any applicant in order to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the Automotive Technician must: Occasionally lift and/or move over 100 pounds. Be able to work with tools on vehicles lifted above their head. Work in tight spaces as dictated by the vehicle’s needed repair. Have the needed dexterity in order to efficiently use hand-tools Walk/stand for the majority of the workday. Drive manual transmission vehicles. Keep a brisk work pace in a high-volume environment. Efficiently navigate a computer. Other: The successful applicant must have a current, valid driver’s license.
