It is the deliberate and consultative body vested with the power to advocate for students at all University levels, including, but not limited to: the Board of Trustees, the President of the University, the Chancellor, Faculty Senate, and the administrative offices of the University, and the general public. SGA is responsible for allocating over $500,000 of student fees to benefit the Chapman student body. The Executive Assistant: Finance will assist the Director of Finance in reviewing, processing, and recording SGA financial transactions and communicating processes, decisions, and policies accordingly. The Executive Assistant: Finance will have a key role in ensuring efficient processing of requests and increasing transparency between SGA and the student body. This is a non-elected, paid position. Responsibilities Review check requests to ensure that all necessary documentation is attached and accurate, and prepare for Director of Finance to process Communicate effectively with students on SGA financial processes, missing information, and responses to general inquiries Assist Director of Finance in tracking financial documents to ensure that they are processed in a timely manner Assist Director of Finance with record keeping to ensure that all financial documents are maintained appropriately Assist Director of Finance in preparing applications for review by Allocations Committee and/or Senate Maintain understanding of Chapman fiscal policies Assist in Student Government Association events as requested Assist in other duties as assigned Required Qualifications – Ability to work 8-10 hours per week during business hours for the duration of the academic year – Strong attention to detail and process – Demonstrated effective written and oral communication skills – Ability to experience initiative and work independently – Strong interpersonal and customer service skills – Ability to use standard office equipment including computers, copiers, and telephones – Minimum of a 2.5 GPA Desired Qualifications Federal Work Study award Major in accounting, business, economics or related field Experience in a campus club or organization or SGA Knowledge of or experience with campus policies and procedures Special Instructions to Applicants Quick Link
