The purpose of Employment Specialist:
Employment specialist is responsible for taking on employment client caseloads. The ES is responsible for coaching, advocating, developing professional skills training, and monitoring employment clients from the three stages such as employment development, employment exploration and employment support. The ES are to adhere to the mission of Empowering Health LLC. Empowering Health LLC believes that personal and professional growth is a process which means that individuals who work towards understanding the “self” and understanding the core of the services they provide create a path to identifying the barriers and learning from the challenges to critically problem solve which will lead to personal and professional growth. Confident individuals are those who understand the value of the services and learn to embrace the vulnerabilities within themselves and others. Primary responsibilities of the Employment Specialist:
The ES must possess active learning and listening skills. Understanding and actively listening to clients to effectively resolve issues and avoid unethical outcomes. The Employment Specialist must have the ability to critically think through issues and develop learning strategies to increase skills development. The ES must monitor performances of self and clients and use statistics and empirical articles to develop a strategy to improve processes to increase self-awareness. The ES should have the ability to read, write and understand college level English. The ES must have the communication skills to convey issues to the client s team without causing conflict. The ES must have the ability to encourage clients to learn self-compassion and further develop their professional skills. The ES should understand the reactions of others and clients and help the clients navigate. It is critical for the ES to master complex problem-solving skills, technical skills, systems skills, resource management skills, job hazardous, changes, pace and scheduling, role relationships, impact of decisions and conflict of interest.
Requirements: ES should be able to bend, sit, stand, and walk without restrictions and can carry up to 25 pounds.
The mentor should have 1-2 years of experience working in the human services field, psychology or social service fields. Preferably have some education relating to the position.
