Serve customers by installing and servicing commercial door openings and applications. Provide superior customer service and present a positive, professional image to customers, clients, and employees in all interactions. Principal Duties and Responsibilities: 1. Complete scheduled service requests within scheduled timeframe Install and service commercial steel frames, steel/wood doors, architectural hardware, and access control systemsPerform onsite welding and modification work on steel doors and frames if neededMaintain professional demeanor with clients and customers while performing onsite workComplete installation/service with as little disruption or impact to surroundings as possibleCarry out all work performed in the safest possible manner; following all Kendell safety SOP s and onsite safety guidelines and requirements 2. Manage assigned schedule and document service and installation activities Post accurate and complete SharePoint requests with pertinent information for all service work performedArrive on time to site and complete service work in scheduled timeframeCommunicate with Service Manager, Project Manager or Salesperson if any issues arise before, after or while onsite; communicate with the customer about the issue 3. Repair, troubleshoot, and retrofit existing openings and products Conduct service calls to assess issues and determine proper course of actionComplete service onsite if able using available tools, product, equipmentCommunicate with Service Manager or Salesperson to assist in ordering product needed to complete service work in a timely manner, solving issues correctly the first time 4. Maintain a clean and organized company vehicle and other company property Ensure all routine maintenance is completed timely and any problems with vehicle are immediately reported to Service Manager or Director of Tactical OperationsOperate vehicles, tools and equipment for intended use onlyFollow Organization and Service Technicians policies and all KENDELL and jobsite/onsite safety policies Additional Duties and Responsibilities: 5. Assist in Production Shops and with KENDELL projects if not performing onsite work 6. Develop and broaden industry and product knowledge by attending Manufacturer Certification trainings or industry supported educational events and classes Work Relationship and Scope: Reports to Service Manager. Works closely internally with Project Management, Sales, and Production positions. Works primarily with external Contractors and Owners/End Users. Measures of Performance/Competencies: Complete daily work in established time frame with minimal errorsFollow all established safety, PPE, and organizational rules/policies/proceduresConsistent and dependable attendance and quality of workFollow reporting processes and documentation for completed installsProvide superior customer service with professionalism, always acting as a face of the company
High School Diploma or equivalent with minimum two years basic carpentry experiencePower Limited Technician certificate or low voltage experience preferredStrong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skillsKnowledge of welding machines, sanders and basic hand tools, including their uses, repair, and maintenanceExperience in metal work (cutting, bending, welding), including use of BondoAbility to follow written, visual (drawings or images), and verbal instructionsAbility to work independently and as part of a team
